Four in court over Blackpool airport drugs find

Three men charged with importing class A drugs into Blackpool Airport have been committed to Preston Crown Court. A fourth defendant was bailed until June when magistrates will decide if he has a case to answer.
Eighteen kilograms (39lb) of cocaine was found in a suitcase in a privately chartered light aircraft at the airport in February. The haul had an estimated street value of £5m.
Phillip Barton, 26, of Wigan, James Horvat, 52, of Hednesford, and Ian Wilde, 53, of Lymm, were bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on 22 June. Karl Fernandez, 23, of Wigan is due before Blackpool Magistrates on 2 June.
