Aer Arann take over Dublin route
03.12.08
As predicted, Aer Arann is to launch a new route between Dublin and Blackpool Airport in January, replacing Ryanair who pulled out of the airport after it announced a new £10 per person development fee last month. The airline operates between domestic airports in Ireland and between Ireland and the UK and Europe.
CEO Paul Schutz said: 'We said when we announced our winter schedule that we will be continuing to launch new routes wherever we see an opportunity.' He said the route underlines Aer Arann's policy to provide services linking regional airports with major urban centres.
The first flight on the new service will operate on January 5, the day after Ryanair pulls out. Introductory fares on the daily service start at £39.99 one way, including taxes and charges.
