An £800,000 contract to build a new service road at Blackpool Airport has been awarded to Lancashire-based Hurstwood Construction. The new road, which will provide access to industrial units, is part of a larger £2m investment in improving facilities at the airport.
Hurstwood Construction managing director Dominic Fussell said: 'The airport is receiving significant levels of investment from its owners. We are pleased to be involved in what promises to be a very exciting future, not only for the airport but also for Blackpool as a whole.'
The airport is about to open the refurbished terminal building with 16 check-in desks, eight departure gates; 5000 sq ft of retail space plus increased room and more comfort in the lounge area.
