Emergency services were on standby as an jet made an emergency landing at Blackpool Airport on Tuesday, the Gazette reports. The passenger plane was travelling from Innsbrook in Austria to the Isle of Man with 52 passengers on board.
The pilot of Viking Airlines Flight 834 alerted air traffic control he was experiencing technical difficulties at around 13:00 on Tuesday afternoon and was quickly diverted to Blackpool. The plane made a ‘heavy’ landing on the runway at 13:20. Dave Rigby, ambulance manager for the Fylde, told the newspaper: ‘There were no injuries, but some of the passengers were a bit shaken up.'
