Police hunt after flights targeted by laser

Police have launched an investigation after a laser was shone at several planes coming in to land at Blackpool Airport on two nights last month. A laser or bright light was shone in the cockpit of helicopters and planes that were due to land at the airport.
A call was logged by air traffic control at 22:00 on Monday September 28. Another called was logged at 20:40 the following night. Police believe the laser was shone from the area of St Leonard's ward in St Annes. Anyone with information should contact the police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
