Blackpool Airport hopes to regain London link
13.04.08
A Blackpool Airport official has said that the airport is doing all they can to reinstate a London link.
Ryanair operated a daily service to Stansted from the airport until May last year, but pulled out citing a lack of passengers. Since then local people have had to travel to Manchester to fly to London, or go by train or road.
Sue Kendrick, communications manager for Blackpool Airport, said: ‘We are trying to establish a new link. One of the key points we are making to airlines is that there is no direct transport link to London from the area. When you consider the Ryanair service was used by over 200,000 people, you realise just why we need such a link.’
