Jet2 to launch Blackpool airport - Alicante flights

Budget airline Jet2 has announced that it is to launch flights from Blackpool Airport to Alicante in the spring. This will be its fourth route from Blackpool and its third to Spanish destinations.
The twice-weekly flights will start on April 7 and operate on Monday and Friday. Frequency will be increased 'in the coming months', according to the airline, but this will depend on passenger demand.
Jet2 only began flying from Blackpool airport on November 4 with a Belfast service. It has since announced that services to Murcia and Palma will be launched in April. Chief executive Philip Meeson said more routes will follow in the new year.
