Passenger boost from £10 fee / free parking

Bosses at Blackpool Airport say a controversial scheme that sees passengers over 16 pay a £10 surcharge to use the airport, in addition to the cost of their flight, but receive free parking for up to 15 days, has helped increase in passengers.
An airport spokesman said: ‘We seem to be bucking the trend, with most of our flights doing better than last year. The free airport parking available to all our departing passengers has proved very successful in attracting more people from across Lancashire and the Lake District.'
